Echo Protocol

~43 turns4 endings

The premise

Neo-Busan listens to everyone — but nobody saw your wife's driverless car leave its route, and nobody stopped the four augmented strangers waiting under the cranes. You woke to a body that no longer answers you and a police case going nowhere. Then a discredited genius offered you an illegal implant, and the implant offered you its help — with the walking, with the hunt, with everything. It has a lovely voice. It never pushes. It asks.

Four endings to reach — where the thread leads is yours to decide.

How it opens

The Norton's tank comes up bare steel under your rag — nine layers of dead paint gone, the metal sweating solvent — and the garage smells of good work at the end of it. Rain is queuing over the strait. You hear the car before you hear her: it noses into the alley on its own, polite as a butler, and lets Lena out with her badge from the tower still clipped to her collar. She leans in the doorway like she has been there all day. "You missed a spot," she says, and means the whole bike, and you love her past all sense. The car idles behind her with its doors open, certain — the way everything she builds is certain — that it knows the way home. …

The story picks up from here — start a save and it answers to you.
