The bindery

What the night is writing next

Nightshelf gets a little bigger every week. Here's what we're building now and what's still ahead — plans, not promises. The order will shift as we go, and watching the shelf fill is half the fun.

Deeper stories

richer versions of what you already play

Building

A deeper writing desk

More control when you create a story — bigger, more detailed, and finer authoring of who each character is, what they want, and how they behave on their own. Deeper character sheets, designable plot beats and graphs, and better tools for tangled storylines.

Building

Further engine polish

Steady work under the hood — sharper prose, better pacing, and fewer rough edges. The engine behind every story keeps getting quieter, faster, and more reliable, story after story.

Planned

Relationships and standing

Characters remember how you've treated them across a story — promises kept or broken, who you helped, who you crossed. That history becomes a standing toward you: good, neutral, or bad. Earn their trust and they open up and help you; lose it and they turn cold, guarded, or against you.

New ways to play

whole new game modes, not just new stories

Exploring

Deathloop

A mode where dying doesn't end the story — it resets it. You wake back at the start and the world forgets everything that happened; only you remember. Use what you learned last time — who dies, what's behind the locked door, who's lying — to change how the next run goes.

Dreaming

RPG mode

A harder skeleton with real stats and a health bar. You and the cast have attributes, actions can wound, and wounds carry from scene to scene. The dice you already roll get real teeth.
